It has many green playing fields and sports amenities such as tennis/basketball courts and an indoor sports hall all safely situated on the school grounds of Our Lady's school.
Dates
DCE will run from the 1st July until the 27th July for the duration of 4 weeks.
Classes
At DCE, we place an emphasis on developing students’ communicative skills. Students partake in weekly projects that are specifically designed for young learners to focus on improving the four main language skills- speaking, listening, reading and writing. Our unique programme includes daily communication tasks that allow learners to use their newly acquired language skills in an engaging, fun and relaxed environment. Speaking practice is an important element of all our exciting and interactive afternoon and evening activities. Learners will build confidence in their English language skills as they continue to practice in a fully immersive experience.
Classes are 9.30 - 13.00, Monday to Friday, where our fully qualified and enthusiastic teachers make learning fun. The opportunity for students to improve their English continues throughout the day as they take part in classes, activities, excursions and spend time with their host families.
Activities
With 20 years experience in running junior schools, the staff of DCE have designed an innovative and fun filled Social and Activities Programme that won’t be found in any other school! DCE has created a programme to help students immerse themselves in Irish culture and lifestyle.
Students will also have a greater opportunity to mingle with their Irish host families as host families will be invited to several evening activities, such as barbecues and table quizzes. DCE students will meet Irish teenagers from local Irish GAA/football sports clubs and Scouts while learning
Gaelic football and taking part in indoor and outdoor activities. Students will consolidate their new language skills learned from their weekly projects when participating in afternoon activities and improve their fluency and communicative skills. New activities include CPR and Language Exchange with Irish teenagers.
